PART-TIME BACP REGISTERED/ACCREDITED PERSON-CENTRED COUNSELLOR

The Counselling Space (TCS), a growing community mental health project offering free counselling for members of the community, is expanding its team and is recruiting a part-time, self-employed Registered Person-Centred Counsellor.

The role would be delivered online when not too safe to deliver face-to-face sessions post-pandemic; TCS delivers face-to-face sessions from two premises in East London.

Main duties and responsibilities: 

  1. To deliver weekly online & face-to-face (where safe to do so) counselling sessions for TCS clients

  2. To co-deliver monthly or bi-monthly free mental health workshops for the local community including GP surgeries, school, libraries, youth centres, NHS support groups etc

  3. To have full responsibility for ensuring referrals, contracts, registration forms and discharge letters are duly completed for clients whilst maintaining accurate and confidential records of your caseload meeting the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions by the BACP

  4. To attend monthly supervision arranged by TCS

  5. To coordinate with TCS Lead Counsellor on any matter relating to the efficient, accessible and confidential support our organisation offers. 

ESSENTIAL:

  •  You hold at least one of the following registrations: HCPC, BPS, UKCP, BACP, BABCP and your clinical work is in line with their guidelines and ethical codes

  • You have at least 2 years post qualification experience 

  • You agree to see a minimum of four clients per week

  • You hold up-to-date professional indemnity insurance

DESIRABLE:

  • You have knowledge and experience of at least one other psychological model

  • You can deliver sessions in another language (we currently deliver sessions in English and Spanish)

Salary: £25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Minimum 6 hours per week

 

COVID-19 considerations:

Therapy is at the moment exclusively remotely. However, as the Covid 19 situations evolved, later this year sessions will return to in-person, face to face settings. 

Experience:

  • 2 years experience in Person-Centred Counselling/ Therapy  

Accreditations / Membership:

  • UKCP 

  • BPS

  • HCPC 

  • BABCP 

  • BACP (REGISTERED OR ACCREDITATION)

PART-TIME PROJECT SUPPORT ADMINISTRATOR

The Counselling Space (TCS), a small growing community mental health project offering free counselling for members of the community, is expanding its team and is recruiting a part-time, self-employed Project Support Administrator.

Main duties and responsibilities: 

  1. To coordinate the delivery of  weekly online & face-to-face (where safe to do so) counselling sessions for TCS clients

  2. To coordinate monthly free mental health workshops for the local community including GP surgeries, schools, libraries, youth centres, NHS support groups etc

  3. To support with arranging referrals, contracts, registration forms and discharge letters for clients whilst maintaining accurate and confidential records of TCS clients' caseload meeting the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions by the BACP

  4. To report to Lead Counsellor and to Board of Trustees (the board meets four times a year)

  5. To support with the compilation of documents and KPIs for funding reports, applications and stakeholders reporting

ESSENTIAL:

  • Administration experience

DESIRABLE:

  • You have experience of working in the mental health sector
